Love this so much, Robin! I did a double take when I read the beginning about you inheriting an old house. What a dream! So freaking cool!
I love the idea of telling ourselves a beautiful story. My sister says this to me all the time, but I tend to only remember during the new moon or whatever. And it has been useful in the past. I need to do it more. I also love your advice to make space for transformation by physically decluttering. I like the idea of decluttering but of course I always put it off to make time for working. What if I took this approach of actively inviting in transformation and space for my story with this clearing ritual? Thank you very much for all of the great advice. Chef's kiss.
A timely post as I continue decluttering, having just released the remainder of my writing journals in preparation for moving. Reading about you receiving a home brought a glimmer of relief, as it’s not a common occurrence. Less than 6 weeks to go… I’m dreaming my way through 🎶💫✨☀️🏡🙏🥰
I wish you well with that process, Leanda! Deep breaths. I've been through many moves in my life, and I know what a lot of work it is. Because you are WONDERFUL at generating a state of calm, I know you'll get through it beautifully. Keep me posted. And enjoy those moments of uplift and relief in making room for new beginnings. 🕊🕊🕊
I love the dare to think about what you would love, and the fear many of us feel to do so. I spent so many years with a dead imagination battery, it had to be jump started by Spirit via visions in hypnosis and meditation of my back yard as a garden and my kitchen a space for making herbal medicines. And of course of me with my hands in the dirt and using my scientific knowledge and intuition in a new way.
I have started using my home in different ways to allow what I love in and it feels very good so far!
It's been hard lately to tell myself a new story with the stuff that has been going on over here in the U.S. before and after the Nov. 5 election but last week I went up to my favorite place, Salem and spent time looking out at the sea and imagining a life for myself. I also do this when I get distracted from my writing, imaging the scenes of doing a book promotion event and talking to readers and that keeps the fire burning. I love that you inherited and old house with family treasures, but I understand the need to declutter. Decluttering and cleaning also helps me to write, it allows me to make space for the creative work. I must read Looking for Jane and recommend it to my Canadian friend here in the states.
I'm on the edge of the need to downsize after 20 years in the house where my kids grew up, became teenagers and then moved into lives of their own. So much STUFF--much of it embedded with memories and family touchstones. Even with help from my kids, decluttering feels like an essential, though daunting first step.
Thanks for the idea of getting in some professionals to help facilitate that process. It's a "not quite yet" - but definitely on my mind. I'll keep you posted!
I wish you well with all of it, Robin! Thank you for reading. I'm happy this post was timely for you. When the moment is right, I highly recommend getting pro help with the decluttering. Books are a good start, too. And yes, keep me posted! ✍️🦋
Doreen, I love that you went up to Salem this month. I can imagine you gazing out over the water, visualizing beautiful experiences. I'll hold that book launch vision with you, for your memoir. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.
Aww, thanks, dreary. I'm glad you found some take-aways here, and I hope you have fun clarifying your desires and intentions, and clearing space. Vision work is powerful. I wish you joy!

Wonderful, Maria. Thanks for sharing your experience here. I appreciate your account of combining intuition and science.
Very timely! I find that making a visionboard every year helps me get clear and set my intention for what I want to invite into my life.
